One UI 8 Beta Begins for Galaxy Phones: Full List of Eligible Devices Revealed

One UI 8 Testing Has Started: Full List of Samsung Galaxy Phones Eligible for the Android 16 Update I still remember the buzz in our newsroom the first time Samsung introduced One UI back in 2018. I had just wrapped up my hands-on review of the Galaxy S9 when our test unit unexpectedly received the One UI beta overnight. It was clunky at the time, but something about the minimalist redesign felt like a genuine reset. Seven years later, I was sitting with a Galaxy S25 Ultra in hand, when a new notification blinked: “One UI 8 Beta available.” This article serves one clear purpose - to give you a verified, up-to-date, and complete list of Samsung Galaxy phones and tablets currently undergoing testing for the One UI 8 update, along with exclusive insight into what users can expect from Android 16-based software. If you’re wondering whether your device made the cut, this breakdown has you covered. One UI 8 Based on Android 16: What’s Changing Samsung’s latest skin is more about refinement t...

PUBG Mobile 3.9 Update Brings ‘Super Smooth’ Graphics for Low-End Devices

PUBG Mobile 3.9 Update Brings ‘Super Smooth’ Graphics for Low-End Devices

PUBG Mobile 3.9 Update Brings ‘Super Smooth’ Graphics for Low-End Devices

Key Takeaways

PUBG Mobile 3.9 introduces “Super Smooth” graphics, designed for low- to mid-range devices

The update also features a Transformers-themed game mode, debuting in July 2025

Graphics performance is the focus - not visual detail - helping reduce lag and improve FPS

PUBG Mobile 3.9 Update Adds ‘Super Smooth’ Graphics Setting for Budget Gamers

In a move that could change the experience for millions of gamers on budget smartphones, PUBG Mobile’s upcoming 3.9 update will introduce a new “Super Smooth” graphics setting

The update is expected to roll out globally in July 2025, alongside a high-profile collaboration with the Transformers franchise.

The addition isn’t just cosmetic. For the first time in several updates, the game appears to be taking a step back from visual polish in favor of raw performance - especially for those on low- and mid-tier Android devices.

Performance First: A New Graphics Option Tailored for FPS Stability

According to early hands-on reports from beta testers, the new Super Smooth setting is lighter than the existing “Smooth” mode, allowing more stable frame rates and reduced thermal strain.

Currently, PUBG Mobile offers six graphics presets: Smooth, Balanced, HD, HDR, Ultra HDR, and Extreme HDR.

The Super Smooth setting will become the seventh tier - but with a very different goal.

“At first glance, it looks like just another low-res mode. But for users frustrated by lag, this could be a turning point,” said an early beta participant on the official PUBG Mobile Discord.

Gamers on older devices have long complained that even the Smooth setting isn’t enough.

As the game has grown increasingly resource-heavy, particularly after the 2.7 and 3.5 updates, performance drops and overheating became common pain points.

This change, then, seems purpose-built. Unlike previous settings, visual fidelity takes a back seat.

Instead, Super Smooth aims to keep the frame rate high and consistent - especially during combat-heavy scenes.

Transformers Collab: Robots in Erangel?

While performance enhancements lead the update for many users, the Transformers crossover is the big-ticket feature drawing attention.

PUBG Mobile’s 3.9 update will include a full Transformers-themed gameplay mode, in which players can:

Transform into vehicles like trucks, tanks, or futuristic hovercrafts

Play on a reimagined Erangel map featuring Autobots vs. Decepticons zones

Unlock exclusive skins and powerups inspired by Optimus Prime and Bumblebee

A report by PocketGamer.biz suggests this might be one of PUBG Mobile’s most visually ambitious collaborations to date, blending mechanized gameplay with a story-driven mission arc.

What This Means for Users

For competitive players on tight hardware budgets, this new graphics option could offer the best of both worlds: fewer frame drops and more responsive gameplay - all without needing to upgrade to flagship devices.

“Most users won’t notice visual changes - until the battery lasts longer, or the touch response improves,” notes mobile gaming analyst Rishi Malhotra of 91mobiles.

And for Transformers fans, the update offers more than just skins.

With the ability to literally shift into battle mode, PUBG is continuing its trend of turning cultural IP into playable formats - similar to earlier partnerships with Dragon Ball and Spider-Man.

Curiously Absent: No Word on Repairability or Thermal Tweaks

Interestingly, despite all the visual tweaks, the official patch notes make no mention of device temperature optimizations or battery drain control.

These have been recurring complaints from long-time users - especially those gaming without a cooling pad.

Also missing is any insight on whether Super Smooth mode affects matchmaking pools, or if it enables cross-setting fair play, especially in ranked games.

Context from Industry Experts

Mark Liu, a game performance engineer formerly with Tencent, told TechCrunch last year that “game optimization for lower-tier devices often gets overlooked due to monetization focus on high-end phones.” This move might signal a shift in PUBG Mobile’s accessibility-first design strategy.

Meanwhile, IGN India suggests that this update could help PUBG Mobile regain share in tier-2 and tier-3 markets, where free-to-play titles struggle with fragmentation and poor hardware support.
