Xiaomi has launched the Redmi Pad 2 tablet series in India, targeting budget-conscious buyers looking for a large-screen Android device. 

The new models feature a 27.94 cm 2.5K display with a 90Hz refresh rate and run on Xiaomi’s latest HyperOS 2 software, replacing the older MIUI platform.

The tablets are powered by the MediaTek G100 Ultra processor and come in multiple RAM and storage configurations. 

As recent report from HansIndia A notable feature is is the large 9000mAh battery, which supports 18W fast charging.


Redmi Pad 2 is available in Wi-Fi-only and 4G models. Prices start at ₹12,999 for the 4GB + 128GB Wi-Fi variant, after applying bank offers. 

The top-end 6GB + 128GB 4G model is priced at ₹17,999 (with offers). Sales begin this week on Mi.com, Amazon, Flipkart, and offline stores.

Along with the tablet, Xiaomi is offering accessories such as the Redmi Smart Pen, priced at ₹3,999, and a cover case at ₹1,299.

HyperOS 2 introduces features like multi-screen collaboration and improved cross-device syncing with Xiaomi phones. 

The tablet is also equipped with quad speakers with Dolby Atmos and supports Widevine L1 certification for HD streaming on platforms like Netflix and Prime Video.

During the online launch, Xiaomi CMO Anuj Sharma said the company continues to manufacture the devices in India under its “Make in India” initiative.

The Redmi Pad 2 enters an increasingly competitive budget tablet market, going up against rivals from Samsung and Lenovo in this price segment
