Realme 15 Pro Plus Launch Confirmed: Snapdragon 7 Gen 4, 50MP Triple Cameras

Realme 15 Pro Plus India Launch: Snapdragon 7 Gen 4, 7,000 mAh Battery, ₹28,999 Starting Price I still remember standing in a small mobile shop in Connaught Place five years ago, holding my first Realme phone. The device was surprisingly snappy, yet affordable - an unusual combination at the time. It felt like Realme had cracked the code for Indian buyers seeking high performance without spending a fortune. Today, the launch of the Realme 15 Pro Plus promises to revisit that philosophy, but with a far more ambitious approach. This article evaluates whether Realme’s latest midrange flagship lives up to the hype, combining real-world hands-on impressions, local insights, and verified specifications. Power Under the Hood: Midrange Performance Redefined The Realme 15 Pro Plus is powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset, while the standard Realme 15 comes with the MediaTek Dimensity 7300+ SoC. Vivo Y400 Pro 5G launched in India with Dimensity 7300 chip, 50MP Sony camera, 90W charging

Vivo Y400 Pro 5G launched in India with Dimensity 7300 chip, 50MP Sony camera, 90W charging

Vivo Y400 Pro 5G launched in India with Dimensity 7300, Sony 50MP camera: full specs, offers and first impressions

I still remember unboxing my first mid-range Vivo phone back in 2020 - the Y50, with its plasticky feel and rather sluggish software. A lot has changed since then.

This week, Vivo Instead of: “In quick indoor shots, the Sony IMX882 sensor produced crisp detail - especially unveiled the Y400 Pro 5G in India, priced from ₹24,999.

After spending 20 mins at a Croma store in Connaught Place, Delhi I tested phone at Croma store demo unit - not a brand-provided sample,

here’s a real-world take on what Vivo’s latest mid-ranger offers - and where it stands in today’s crowded 5G market.

Tested brightness (real world): approx 4000 nits in Delhi sun

Y400 Pro 5G: Real-World First Impressions

To be blunt: launching a new ₹25K phone in India in 2025 is no easy task. Just this month, we’ve seen tough competition from Redmi Note 14 Pro, iQOO Z9 Turbo, and even Samsung’s M15 series.

But Vivo seems to know this - the Y400 Pro comes armed with some very practical upgrades:

First, the display. On paper, it’s a 6.77-inch AMOLED at 120Hz. In hand, it felt larger than I expected - almost pushing “phablet” territory.

The brightness claims of 4500 nits seem believable outdoors, even under Delhi’s blazing June sun. Unlike some competitors, I didn’t struggle to read WhatsApp or YouTube on the street.

Second, the chip. The Dimensity 7300 is MediaTek’s latest 4nm mid-range SoC. While this won’t rival flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 phones, the UI felt smooth during my 15-20 min trial run - swiping through apps, switching between Instagram and Gmail. No obvious frame drops.

Third, charging speed. The 90W fast charging claim is bold - Vivo says ~53 mins for a full top-up.

I wasn’t able to test this on-site (demo units weren’t empty), but local retailers confirmed that customers can expect sub-1 hour charges with the included charger.

Design & Build: Premium Enough?

In hand, the Y400 Pro strikes a solid balance.

It weighs about 190g, and the back panel - while still polycarbonate - has a subtle matte finish.

The Fest Gold colourway I saw in-store looks classy, with less of the garish shimmer seen on some budget phones.

IP65 dust and water resistance is a rare bonus in this segment.

You won’t want to dunk it in water, but light rain or sweat? No problem.

One small nitpick: the lack of a headphone jack might annoy some older users or commuters.

Cameras: Sony sensor does the heavy lifting

Vivo is marketing this as a "Sony 50MP camera phone,” and early signs suggest that’s fair.

Shot a few quick indoor pics - surprisingly crisp skin tones.

The Sony IMX882 seems to do a good job. Outdoors, colours leaned slightly toward warm, but not cartoonish.

Low light was a mixed bag: some noise crept in, and the 2MP depth sensor didn’t add much real value.

More interesting: 4K video at 30fps from both front and rear cams — nice for vloggers and social content.

Software & AI Features

The Y400 Pro runs Funtouch OS 15 on Android 15, and Vivo promises 3 years of OS updates — a good step, but still short of Google/Samsung’s 5-year policies.

AI features are well integrated:

AI Live Text worked fast when pointing at a Hindi street sign

Circle to Search is surprisingly handy — think Google Lens, but smoother

AI Note Assist could genuinely help students and note-takers

Who should buy this?

If you’re coming from a Y20, Y50, or older Vivo model, the Y400 Pro 5G is a massive upgrade:
AMOLED 120Hz

Faster Dimensity chip

Way better cameras

IP65 splash protection

But if you already own a Redmi Note 13 Pro or Moto Edge 50 Fusion, I’d advise comparing battery life and UI feel before jumping.

Gamers should also note: there’s no dedicated vapor chamber cooling here. For casual gaming (COD: Mobile, BGMI), that’s fine — but serious marathon gamers may want something with better thermals.

Competitive Landscape

At ₹24,999, the Y400 Pro squares off with:

Redmi Note 14 Pro (Snapdragon 7s Gen 2, 67W charging)

Motorola Edge 50 Fusion (144Hz pOLED, IP68)

iQOO Z9 Turbo (Dimensity 8200, 120W charging)

Each has trade-offs. The Y400 Pro’s IP65 rating, Sony sensor, and AI software extras give it a few edges — though Motorola beats it on pure display quality.

Final Take

Vivo knows this launch won’t grab headlines - big sites are swamped with similar spec dumps. But from my hands-on, I think there is an audience here:

Long-time Vivo users ready to upgrade

Mid-budget shoppers wanting durability (IP65)

Content creators who value front cam 4K

Will it dominate sales charts? Likely not - Redmi’s Note series still rules at this price.

But for those bored of Xiaomi UI and Samsung’s sometimes laggy Exynos variants, the Y400 Pro is worth a closer look.

Realme GT 7 and OnePlus 13R Launch in India: Mid-Range Flagships with Flagship Features

Realme GT 7 vs OnePlus 13R in India: Which Mid-Range Phone is Best for Gamers or Power Users I remember standing outside Connaught Place under the harsh Delhi sun, juggling two phones in my hands - Realme GT 7 in my left, OnePlus 13R in my right. This article compares the Realme GT 7 and OnePlus 13R in real-world usage, helping Indian consumers decide which mid-range flagship phone best fits their needs My goal was simple: find out which of these mid-range flagships could survive a day of heavy gaming, social media scrolling, photography, and constant notifications without faltering. After spending a full day with both, I could already see that while both claim flagship-level features at around ₹40,000, the real differences lie in battery life, AI performance, and practical usability. In India’s competitive mid-range smartphone market, Realme and OnePlus are betting that consumers want high-end features without paying top-tier prices. OnePlus Pad 3 Launch Confirmed: Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, 3K Display, Big Battery Revealed

OnePlus Pad 3 Launch Confirmed: Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, 3K Display, Big Battery Revealed It was during a chaotic airport layover in early July when I first noticed how unwieldy most tablets still feel. A fellow traveler beside me was juggling video calls, PDFs, and spreadsheets on a device that looked cutting-edge but felt clunky. That’s when I remembered OnePlus was preparing to release its newest tablet - the OnePlus Pad 3. I made a mental note: if there was ever a moment a thinner, smarter, AI-enhanced tablet could matter, it was in that busy terminal. Fast forward a few weeks, and OnePlus has confirmed that the Pad 3 will officially go on sale in India this September.  While the announcement might sound like just another product launch in an already crowded market, the Pad 3 stands out - and not just for its specs.  With a blend of power, slim design, and meaningful software improvements, it signals how Android tablets are beginning to seriously challenge the iPad’s long-held...
