iPhone 17 Pro vs i Phone 16 Pro News: Key Specs and Launch Expectations

Summary Box

iPhone 17 Pro expected in September with A19 Pro chip, 48MP cameras, and reverse charging

Major design changes likely, including a new Sky Blue color and rectangular camera island

Expected starting price of ₹1,39,900 in India—₹20,000 more than iPhone 16 Pro

Apple is preparing to launch the iPhone 17 Pro in September 2025, expected between September 11 and 13, as per recent leaks.

While the official announcement is pending, industry analysts and tech insiders have already begun comparing it with last year’s iPhone 16 Pro.

With upgrades across design, camera, and performance, the upcoming flagship is shaping up to be Apple’s most advanced Pro model yet.

iPhone 17 Pro Launch Timeline

Apple’s launch pattern has remained largely consistent in recent years.

Following that trend, the iPhone 17 Pro is likely to be unveiled in mid-September, with pre-orders opening shortly after the event. Deliveries may begin within 10 to 14 days post-launch.

iPhone 17 Pro Price in India (Expected)

Indian customers might need to spend more this year. The iPhone 17 Pro could be priced at ₹1,39,900, according to Times Now sources familiar with Apple’s supply chain.

In comparison, the iPhone 16 Pro launched at ₹1,19,900. This ₹20,000 hike may be due to rising global tariffs, production costs, and advanced new features.

Design Changes: A Fresh Look

The iPhone 17 Pro is expected to undergo a noticeable design refresh.

While it will likely retain the 6.3-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display, reports suggest Apple may switch from titanium to an aluminum frame.

The back panel might feature a half-glass, half-metal finish for a modern appearance.

A thicker chassis is also being discussed, possibly to accommodate a larger battery or advanced thermal components.

Additionally, a new rectangular camera module could replace the traditional square one on the iPhone 16 Pro.

New Color Options

According to Apple-focused leaker @Asherdipps, a Sky Blue color may debut with the iPhone 17 Pro.

Inspired by the MacBook Air, this new tone will join updated versions of Black, White, Grey, and Gold.
Expected Specifications

At the heart of the iPhone 17 Pro will likely be the A19 Pro chip, built on a 3nm process.

This chip is expected to deliver faster processing, improved graphics, and better battery efficiency than the A18 Pro in the iPhone 16 Pro.

The RAM may increase to 12GB, compared to 8GB in the previous model.

One of the most talked-about features is reverse wireless charging, which could allow users to charge their AirPods or Apple Watch directly from the phone.

Wired charging is expected to remain at 35W, with no major change in battery charging speed.
Camera Upgrades: Sharper and Smarter

Apple is likely to introduce a 24MP front camera, replacing the long-used 12MP sensor. On the rear, all three lenses - wide, ultra-wide, and telephoto - may be upgraded to 48MP.

The telephoto lens could support 3.5x optical zoom and 7x lossless zoom, while the video recording capabilities may go up to 8K resolution. A rumored dual video mode could allow recording using the front and rear cameras at the same time.

Industry Insight

According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman and other Apple analysts, Apple is shifting toward hardware-software synergy with its Pro lineup.

The iPhone 17 Pro may feature tighter iOS and hardware integration, making full use of the A19 chip and machine learning capabilities.

The iPhone 17 Pro signals Apple’s evolving design and feature strategy.

If these leaks are accurate, the device not only continues Apple’s Pro-tier innovation but also represents a more practical and locally relevant push into features like reverse charging and better camera modules.

However, the higher price tag may make buyers hesitate - especially in a cost-sensitive market like India.

Apple will need to offer significant real-world performance improvements to justify this price leap.

Threads App Update: New Shortcuts for Saved & Liked Posts

Meta Threads App Adds New Sidebar Shortcuts: Saved and Liked Posts Now 1 Tap Away This article explores the latest Threads update that adds shortcuts for ‘Saved’ and ‘Liked’ posts It was just past midnight when I instinctively reached for my phone - scrolling through Threads had become my late-night routine. The interface felt different that day. In the sidebar, two new icons had quietly appeared: "Saved" and "Liked." A subtle change, yet one that immediately improved my navigation through the app.  Hours later, Twitter's most consistent tech tipster, Ahmed Ghanem (@ahmedghanem), confirmed the update in his characteristically crisp style. "#Threads added shortcuts for “Saved” and “Liked” posts in the app’s new side menu." As someone who follows platform shifts professionally and personally, this update, and Ghanem’s precise tipoff, signaled something deeper than UX tweaks.  It echoed the evolving strategy of Meta's Twitter-competitor to quietly but...
