Nokia Beacon 4 and 9 Routers Bring Wi-Fi 7 and 9.4Gbps Speeds

Nokia Beacon 4 and 9 Routers Bring Wi-Fi 7 and 9.4Gbps Speeds

Nokia Beacon 4 and 9 Routers Bring Wi-Fi 7 and 9.4Gbps Speeds

Summary Box

Nokia unveils two new Wi-Fi 7 routers: Beacon 4 and Beacon 9.

Beacon 9 offers up to 9.4Gbps speed with tri-band and wider 320MHz channels.

Both run on Nokia’s Corteca software for easy updates and remote management.

Nokia expanded its Wi-Fi 7 product lineup on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, with the launch of two new routers — Beacon 4 and Beacon 9.

These consumer-grade routers aim to deliver faster internet speeds and broader coverage as fiber broadband continues to grow globally.

The launch further strengthens Nokia’s position in the home networking market.

Compact Power: Beacon 4 Specifications

The Nokia Beacon 4 is the smaller model among the two. It supports dual-band Wi-Fi 7 using both 2.4GHz and 5GHz frequencies.

Built with 2×2 MIMO technology, it achieves wireless speeds of up to 3.6Gbps.

The router is designed to cover up to 250 square meters, making it suitable for mid-sized homes and apartments.

Beacon 4 features include:

One 2.5GbE WAN port

Two 1GbE LAN ports

160MHz channel bandwidth support

Compact dimensions: 126.5 x 160 x 43mm

Its size and neutral design make it easy to place on shelves or desks without taking up much space or clashing with home interiors.

Higher Speed with Tri-Band: Beacon 9 Specifications

The Nokia Beacon 9 is a more advanced model. It introduces tri-band connectivity, including the newer 6GHz band.

This increases its peak performance to 9.4Gbps, a significant improvement over traditional dual-band routers.

Key features of Beacon 9:

Wider 320MHz channel support (rare among non-flagship routers)

Coverage of up to 280 square meters

One 2.5GbE WAN port

One 2.5GbE LAN port

One 1GbE LAN port

Sleek build: 173.5 x 140 x 71.5mm

The Beacon 9 has a smooth matte finish and curved edges, blending well into modern home environments.

Smart Software: Nokia Corteca Platform

Both routers operate on Nokia’s Corteca software platform, designed for enhanced network control and service efficiency.

According to Nokia’s official product briefing, Corteca allows telecom operators to:

Manage home networks remotely

Push software updates efficiently

Deploy new features via the Corteca App Store

This means fewer service calls and better visibility into home network performance for internet service providers.

Design Language: Minimalist and Nordic

Both devices follow Nokia’s Nordic design philosophy, focusing on simplicity, neutrality, and functionality.

They are designed to blend seamlessly into living spaces while offering top-tier performance.

According to experts at Gizmochina, where the initial announcement was made (source), the new routers are built not just for speed but also for aesthetics and usability.

Pricing and Availability

Nokia has not yet disclosed retail pricing for the Beacon 4 or Beacon 9.

The company has indicated that these routers will likely be bundled with internet service plans from telecom partners.

This follows a trend of ISPs offering advanced networking gear to enhance customer experience.

These two routers now join Nokia’s broader Wi-Fi 7 portfolio, which already includes the Beacon 19 and Beacon 24, targeting various use cases and budgets.

Wider Impact and Future Outlook

As more households switch to multi-gigabit fiber internet, high-speed routers like the Beacon 9 will play a key role in delivering full network performance.

These launches reflect a growing trend of consumer routers keeping pace with advanced internet infrastructure.

According to industry analysts, the shift to Wi-Fi 7 is becoming essential due to increasing smart home devices, 4K/8K streaming, and real-time gaming.

Author’s Opinion

The launch of the Beacon 4 and Beacon 9 shows Nokia’s clear intent to lead in the home networking space.

The integration of tri-band Wi-Fi 7 and support for 320MHz channels in the Beacon 9 makes it stand out in a crowded market.

By combining strong design with powerful specs, Nokia seems to be targeting not just speed enthusiasts but also everyday consumers who value stable and seamless home internet.

The use of Corteca software may also become a major advantage for ISPs seeking more control with less maintenance.

However, the success of these routers will likely depend on carrier adoption and how well Nokia manages support and firmware updates.

Huawei Watch GT 6 India Launch Leak: Two Sizes, Stylish Colors, Long Battery

Huawei Watch GT 6 India Launch Leak: Two Sizes, Stylish Colors, Long Battery New Delhi – July 23, 2025 By Michael B. Norris, Senior Tech Correspondent   When I ran my first half-marathon wearing the Huawei Watch GT 5, I didn’t expect it to outperform my chest strap monitor. It was early morning, cool winds cutting through Lodhi Gardens, and I’d just passed the 8km mark.  That’s when I glanced down at the GT 5 - expecting some lag or off-reading.  But no - it was spot-on, closely mirroring my Polar heart rate strap. Even after two hours, the battery barely budged. That experience marked a turning point in how I viewed Huawei's smartwatches.  The Watch GT series has always leaned into endurance over extravagance.  With the Watch GT 6 expected this fall, Huawei seems to be refining this formula - this time offering two case sizes and an array of bold new colors aimed at casual users and fitness-minded customers alike. But behind the color names and numbers lies som...

Nokia 5G Mobile New Launch: HMD Pulse 2, Crest 2, Bold Series Specs Leaked Ahead of India Debut

Nokia 5G Mobile New Launch: HMD Pulse 2, Crest 2, Bold Series Specs Leaked Ahead of India Debut Mumbai | July 22, 2025 I still remember standing in a cramped electronics shop in Karol Bagh, Delhi, back in 2017, clutching my last ₹10,000 and scanning the budget smartphone shelves with quiet desperation.  My previous phone - a once-reliable Nokia - had finally quit on me. I wanted something simple, durable, and capable of running the basics without overheating or dying halfway through the day.  What I got instead was a sluggish, ad-riddled Chinese model that began freezing within weeks. Ever since then, I’ve paid close attention to the budget smartphone space - not as a tech reviewer, but as someone who knows what it’s like when every rupee counts. That’s why the latest leaks around HMD Global - the company that once brought Nokia phones back into relevance - caught my attention. This isn’t just another spec dump. It’s potentially a quiet revolution in the sub-₹15,000 market. A...

HUAWEI MatePad Pro 12.2 Launched in India: 2000-Nit OLED, Glide Keyboard, Stylus Support

HUAWEI MatePad Pro 12.2 Launched in India: 2000-Nit OLED, Glide Keyboard, Stylus Support By Michael B Norris - July 25, 2025   I Left My Laptop Behind - And Didn’t Regret It Last month, I was en route to a regional tech forum in Kuala Lumpur. My usual travel companion? A compact but heavy ultrabook that’s been my workhorse for years. But this time, by accident more than intention, I left it charging at the office.  What I had in my bag instead was the newly released HUAWEI MatePad Pro 12.2 inch, still wrapped in review plastic and paired with its Glide Keyboard and M-Pencil. With deadlines looming and hours of panel coverage ahead, the panic should’ve hit me - but surprisingly, it didn’t. Over the next three days, I typed reports, edited video snippets, drew rough infographic sketches, and livestreamed commentary - all from this 508g tablet. It wasn’t just functional; it was liberating. That field experience is what makes the “Can tablets replace laptops?” debate more real th...
