Motorola Moto G86 5G Smartphone Power Launches in India: 32MP Selfie Cam, Waterproof Body at ₹17,999

Motorola Moto G86 5G Smartphone Power Launches in India: 32MP Selfie Cam, Waterproof Body at ₹17,999 Mumbai | July 30, 2025 By Michael B. Norris A few weeks ago, I stood at a small mobile store in Delhi’s Karol Bagh market watching a young college student wrestle with indecision. He had just broken his phone’s screen and wanted something affordable, but also durable and powerful enough for school work, video calls, and of course, social media selfies. As the shopkeeper handed him a Moto G73 to try, the student asked, “Kya iska camera achha hai? TikTok ke liye chalega?” (Is the camera good? Will it work for TikTok?) I thought of that interaction when Motorola launched its new Moto G86 Power today - a device that seems to directly answer that question. Designed for India’s increasingly demanding mid-range users, this smartphone isn’t just about specs on paper. It promises real-world resilience, social-ready imaging, and thoughtful features that cater to an audience balancing tight budget...

Oppo A5 5G India Launch Soon: Specs Leaked

Oppo A5 5G India Launch Imminent: Key Specs, Design, and Expected Price Revealed

Oppo is gearing up to launch the Oppo A5 5G in India, following the April debut of its Pro variant.

A recent leak published by SmartPrix reveals not just a live image of the device but also key specifications - and it appears the model will offer robust features in the affordable 5G segment.

Key Takeaways:

Oppo A5 5G may debut with a 6,000mAh battery and Dimensity 6300 chip

The phone runs Android 15 with ColorOS 15.0 and Trinity Engine

Expected price in India: Rs 15,499 (~$180) for base variant

What We Know So Far

A leaked live shot, reportedly from a test unit, showcases the "About Device" screen, revealing some hardware and software details.

The Oppo A5 5G carries model number CPH2751 and runs ColorOS 15.0 based on Android 15,

which may position it among the first budget phones shipping with Android 15 out of the box.

At the core of the phone is MediaTek’s Dimensity 6300 chipset - the same processor found in the Oppo A5 Pro 5G launched earlier.

It’s paired with 6GB of physical RAM, 4GB of virtual RAM, and 128GB of onboard storage, offering a balanced configuration for budget users.

The display is a 6.6-inch LCD panel with a punch-hole cutout, and while not officially confirmed, the leak hints at a 120Hz refresh rate and HD+ resolution, protected by Gorilla Glass 7i.

Battery Life May Be a Game Changer

The standout feature, at least on paper, is the massive 6,000mAh battery, a rare offering in this segment. If true, this could easily support two full days of moderate use — a major win for users frequently on the go. Fast charging is also expected to reach 45W, though Oppo hasn’t officially confirmed this.
Cameras, Protection, and Performance

While camera specs haven’t been confirmed officially, leaks suggest the A5 5G will mirror its global version with a 50MP main sensor, a 2MP depth or macro sensor, and an 8MP front-facing shooter.

The device may also feature IP68/IP69 protection, making it more resistant to dust and water than other phones in its price bracket - but again, we await confirmation.

Interestingly, Oppo’s inclusion of its Trinity Engine performance system could provide smoother multitasking and better thermal control - features previously seen in higher-end models.

What This Means for Users

For most users looking for a budget 5G phone under Rs 16,000, the Oppo A5 5G might tick the right boxes: solid battery life, acceptable camera hardware, and a clean Android 15 experience.

The Trinity Engine and virtual RAM expansion offer meaningful performance boosts for daily apps, particularly for students or gig workers.

Expert Context: Where It Stands in the Market

According to Michael B. Norris, mobile technology analyst at TrendingAlone, “This release seems aimed at undercutting Samsung’s and Vivo’s entry-level 5G options, while quietly testing deeper Android 15 adoption.” He adds, “The 6,000mAh battery at this price point is unusual - and could become a differentiator if real-world endurance matches specs.”

Interestingly, there’s been no mention yet of software support lifecycle, which is increasingly a concern for buyers.

If Oppo commits to at least two Android version updates, it could boost the A5 5G’s long-term value.

When Will It Launch in India?

No official launch date has been confirmed, but given the leaked live device images and software build, launch is likely imminent - possibly within the next few weeks.

The base variant with 8GB RAM + 128GB storage is expected to retail at Rs 15,499 (~$180), according to GizmoChina and SmartPrix reports.

Notable Omissions

Strangely, the official leaks do not mention repairability, battery cycle count, or SAR ratings — key elements budget-conscious users increasingly consider.

Also, there's no clarity on bloatware or pre-installed third-party apps, which often affect user experience.

Final Thoughts

On paper, the Oppo A5 5G presents a strong contender in the sub-Rs 16,000 bracket.

However, real-world performance, software longevity, and support policy will determine whether this is a solid long-term pick or just another forgettable launch in the crowd of budget 5G phones.

HUAWEI MatePad Pro 12.2 Launched in India: 2000-Nit OLED, Glide Keyboard, Stylus Support

HUAWEI MatePad Pro 12.2 Launched in India: 2000-Nit OLED, Glide Keyboard, Stylus Support By Michael B Norris - July 25, 2025   I Left My Laptop Behind - And Didn’t Regret It Last month, I was en route to a regional tech forum in Kuala Lumpur. My usual travel companion? A compact but heavy ultrabook that’s been my workhorse for years. But this time, by accident more than intention, I left it charging at the office.  What I had in my bag instead was the newly released HUAWEI MatePad Pro 12.2 inch, still wrapped in review plastic and paired with its Glide Keyboard and M-Pencil. With deadlines looming and hours of panel coverage ahead, the panic should’ve hit me - but surprisingly, it didn’t. Over the next three days, I typed reports, edited video snippets, drew rough infographic sketches, and livestreamed commentary - all from this 508g tablet. It wasn’t just functional; it was liberating. That field experience is what makes the “Can tablets replace laptops?” debate more real th...
