Motorola Moto G86 5G Smartphone Power Launches in India: 32MP Selfie Cam, Waterproof Body at ₹17,999

Motorola Moto G86 5G Smartphone Power Launches in India: 32MP Selfie Cam, Waterproof Body at ₹17,999 Mumbai | July 30, 2025 By Michael B. Norris A few weeks ago, I stood at a small mobile store in Delhi’s Karol Bagh market watching a young college student wrestle with indecision. He had just broken his phone’s screen and wanted something affordable, but also durable and powerful enough for school work, video calls, and of course, social media selfies. As the shopkeeper handed him a Moto G73 to try, the student asked, “Kya iska camera achha hai? TikTok ke liye chalega?” (Is the camera good? Will it work for TikTok?) I thought of that interaction when Motorola launched its new Moto G86 Power today - a device that seems to directly answer that question. Designed for India’s increasingly demanding mid-range users, this smartphone isn’t just about specs on paper. It promises real-world resilience, social-ready imaging, and thoughtful features that cater to an audience balancing tight budget...

Oppo K13 5G Turbo Pro leak teases 144Hz screen

Oppo K13 Turbo Pro leak teases 144Hz screen

Oppo K13 5G Turbo Pro Leak Hints at Gaming-Grade Specs and Active Cooling

Key Takeaways

Oppo K13 Turbo Pro may feature a 144Hz 1.5K display and 16GB RAM

Expected to ship with active cooling and Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chip

Leak hints at IPX8 waterproofing but possibly no dust resistance

In what appears to be Oppo’s boldest step yet into the gaming phone arena, a newly leaked smartphone - the Oppo K13 Turbo Pro - could bring features more common to laptops than traditional handsets.

First spotted by Digital Chat Station on Weibo, the device may pack an actively cooled chassis, a 144Hz high-refresh display, and up to 16GB of RAM - features typically reserved for premium mobile gaming hardware.

And yet, this device may skip over other luxuries - like premium build materials or advanced camera arrays - to keep its price competitive.

A Fan Inside a Phone?

If the leak holds true, Oppo could be joining the ranks of RedMagic, which popularized built-in fans by replacing rear cameras with active cooling systems.

The K13 Turbo Pro, interestingly, may not go that far - instead opting for RGB accent strips and what’s rumored to be a smaller internal fan.

At first, it wasn’t obvious why Oppo would change the name from K13 Turbo to Turbo Pro.

But looking at the spec sheet again, it starts to make sense: this phone seems geared toward pro-tier mobile gamers.

Flagship Specs in a Mid-Range Shell?

Reportedly, the phone will sport a 6.82-inch 1.5K panel with a 144Hz refresh rate.

While that’s slightly behind Oppo’s own 165Hz tech rumored for future models, it’s still high-end territory - and especially rare in phones not explicitly labeled as gaming devices.

Other potential highlights include:

Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 SoC

16GB RAM + 512GB storage

Intelligent frequency conversion, which may refer to mobile VRR (variable refresh rate) or some form of active dimming

That said, Oppo appears to be cutting some corners - possibly a plastic mid-frame, a modest 2MP secondary camera, and a standard optical fingerprint reader.

Waterproof... But Not Dustproof?

One oddity? The leaked IPX8 rating. While this implies decent water resistance, the lack of dust protection could be a deal-breaker for some gamers - especially those on the move or outdoors.

Interestingly, the inclusion of IPX8 in a phone with active cooling is rare, since moving parts and moisture protection don’t typically mix.

It’s unclear how Oppo might have pulled this off - or if the fan itself is isolated or waterproofed.

What This Means for Users

Most mainstream users probably won’t need a fan-cooled phone - but mobile gamers who push their devices hard might welcome the extra thermal headroom.

Also, anyone used to phones with less than 120Hz displays will likely notice the smoother scrolling and faster UI response, even in non-gaming apps.

Still, the use of plastic materials and underwhelming secondary sensors suggests this device is aimed at balancing performance with affordability - not replacing flagship-tier models like the Find X series.

Context from Industry Experts

“Cooling is the next frontier in mobile gaming,” notes Michael B. Norris, smartphone analyst at TrendingAlone.

“If Oppo pulls this off under ₹35,000, it could redefine expectations for the mid-range gaming segment.”

Norris also pointed out that active cooling systems are still rare in phones and may only become mainstream once software and thermals can take full advantage of them.

“This feels like a testbed for Oppo’s future premium gaming models,” he added.

Meta Observations

Strangely, the leak makes no mention of fast charging, even though the K-series often boasts 67W or more.

Likewise, there’s no word on AI features or software enhancements, which feels like a missed opportunity given Oppo’s usual software polish.

Final Thoughts

On paper, the Oppo K13 Turbo Pro looks like a spec-heavy phone tailored for gamers - but without breaking the bank.

It may not impress on the camera front, but for high refresh rates, active cooling, and ample RAM, it’s shaping up to be a serious contender in the value-for-performance space.

That said, until Oppo confirms the leak, it’s wise to keep expectations in check.

HUAWEI MatePad Pro 12.2 Launched in India: 2000-Nit OLED, Glide Keyboard, Stylus Support

HUAWEI MatePad Pro 12.2 Launched in India: 2000-Nit OLED, Glide Keyboard, Stylus Support By Michael B Norris - July 25, 2025   I Left My Laptop Behind - And Didn’t Regret It Last month, I was en route to a regional tech forum in Kuala Lumpur. My usual travel companion? A compact but heavy ultrabook that’s been my workhorse for years. But this time, by accident more than intention, I left it charging at the office.  What I had in my bag instead was the newly released HUAWEI MatePad Pro 12.2 inch, still wrapped in review plastic and paired with its Glide Keyboard and M-Pencil. With deadlines looming and hours of panel coverage ahead, the panic should’ve hit me - but surprisingly, it didn’t. Over the next three days, I typed reports, edited video snippets, drew rough infographic sketches, and livestreamed commentary - all from this 508g tablet. It wasn’t just functional; it was liberating. That field experience is what makes the “Can tablets replace laptops?” debate more real th...
