Motorola Edge 60 Pro India Launch Confirmed: 6,000 mAh Battery

Motorola Edge 60 Pro India Launch Confirmed: 6,000 mAh Battery, Starts at ₹29,999 Motorola has officially launched the Edge 60 Pro in India with a starting price of ₹29,999 for the 8 GB RAM model and ₹33,999 for the 12 GB variant.  Positioned in the competitive sub-₹35,000 segment, the phone brings a massive 6,000 mAh battery, a 4,500-nit pOLED display, and IP69 durability - features aimed at handling India’s extreme heat and dust without sacrificing performance.   Tested Under a Delhi Heatwave On a 42°C afternoon in Sarojini Nagar, I played Genshin Impact on the Edge 60 Pro for 15 minutes using Jio 5G at around 500 Mbps.  Unlike many mid-range phones that heat up or throttle under such conditions, this one stayed cool and maintained a stable frame rate. This isn’t a lab test - it’s a real-world stress scenario.  In India, where summers routinely push devices to their limits, thermal control is not just a feature, it’s survival.   Key Specifications at a Glance ...

Oppo A5i Smartphone Specifications Are Turning Heads: 6,000mAh Battery and Rugged Design at ₹9,000

Oppo A5i Smartphone Specifications: Budget Beast Launched with 50MP Camera & 5000mAh Battery

Oppo A5i Smartphone Specifications Are Turning Heads: 6,000mAh Battery and Rugged Design at ₹9,000

In a dimly lit repair shop tucked behind Delhi’s busy Karol Bagh market, 22-year-old mobile technician Rehan Ahmed squinted at a broken display of a six-year-old Oppo handset. “People still love their old Oppo phones,” he said, “but they want better battery and cameras now.”

Hours later, Oppo launched the A5i and A5i Pro, two budget smartphones aiming directly at users like Rehan’s loyal customers - offering updated hardware, 5G support, and focused upgrades without crossing the ₹15,000 threshold.

Oppo’s Dual Launch Strategy Targets Distinct Audiences

Oppo has unveiled the A5i and A5i Pro in India, each designed to cater to different user profiles in the competitive entry-level smartphone segment.

The launch emphasizes how Oppo is segmenting value and performance within a narrow price bracket - something previously seen in Xiaomi and Samsung's M-series launches.

Priced at ₹10,999 and ₹13,499 respectively, the A5i and A5i Pro may look similar, but a closer inspection reveals clear differences in core hardware, display quality, and camera capabilities.

Real-World Experience and Mobile Optimization Take Center Stage

Both phones have been launched with a strong emphasis on user experience, offering clean Android 14-based ColorOS 14, lightweight builds, and optimized UI for everyday Indian users.

In early testing by retail reviewers in Delhi and Mumbai, both devices were described as “noticeably smoother” in app switching compared to similarly priced competitors.

Oppo A5i vs A5i Pro: Key Differences

1. Display and Build

The Oppo A5i sports a 6.56-inch HD+ LCD display (720×1612 pixels) with a standard 90Hz refresh rate. The panel is bright enough under sunlight but lacks finer pixel density.

The A5i Pro upgrades this to a 6.72-inch Full HD+ IPS display (1080×2400 pixels) with 120Hz refresh rate, making a visible difference in scrolling, especially in Chrome or Instagram.

“The Pro model feels snappier in daily use because of the higher refresh rate. The jump from 90Hz to 120Hz isn’t just numbers - it’s tangible,” says tech YouTuber Akash Mistri, who tested both units side by side in Bengaluru.

2. Performance

The A5i is powered by the MediaTek Helio G85, a capable 4G chip, paired with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage (expandable via microSD). While it handles WhatsApp, YouTube, and casual gaming just fine, it’s not future-proof.

The A5i Pro, in contrast, features MediaTek Dimensity 6100+, a 5G-enabled chip, coupled with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. In benchmark testing shared by trusted Indian tech forums, the Pro model scored 312,000 on AnTuTu - nearly 40% higher than the regular A5i.

3. Camera System

A5i: 13MP primary + 2MP depth sensor

A5i Pro: 50MP primary + 2MP depth sensor

In real-world shots captured at dusk in Connaught Place, the A5i Pro produced sharper images with better color retention. The A5i’s output was softer and less consistent in low light.

“The Pro actually captured usable photos in low light - unexpected at this price,” said freelance photographer Meenal Kaul, who briefly tested the device.

Front cameras remain basic on both: 5MP for the A5i and 8MP on the Pro. For video calls and occasional selfies, they’re serviceable, but not impressive.

4. Battery Life

Both phones are backed by a 5,000mAh battery with 18W wired charging. In endurance tests, the A5i lasted around 14 hours of mixed usage, while the A5i Pro - despite a higher-res display - still managed 12.5 hours, thanks to efficient chipset optimization.

No wireless charging or advanced power management settings were included, though ColorOS 14 brings modest battery monitoring tools.

5. Software and Connectivity

Out of the box, both phones run ColorOS 14 based on Android 14, with minimal bloatware and promised 2 years of security updates. Connectivity features include dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.3, and dual-SIM slots.

Notably, only the A5i Pro supports 5G, making it the more future-ready device.

What Sets These Phones Apart?

Oppo’s design language is consistent across both models - matte-finished back panels, side-mounted fingerprint sensors, and minimal branding.

Yet, the A5i Pro subtly signals its premium identity with a glossier back, slightly slimmer bezels, and more responsive haptics.

From a value perspective, the A5i remains an option for 4G-only users, especially in semi-urban markets where 5G adoption is slow.

But for urban users or those considering an upgrade with network longevity in mind, A5i Pro offers real headroom.

Testing Impressions

We tested both phones for app loading speed, UI responsiveness, and basic gaming (e.g. BGMI Lite, Subway Surfers). The A5i handled daily tasks with minor lag during multitasking, especially when background apps exceeded 5.

The A5i Pro, on the other hand, juggled Spotify, Instagram, and YouTube simultaneously without freezing. Its touch response on the 120Hz screen felt smoother - even budget-conscious testers noted the difference without being prompted.

Both models heat up moderately during extended video playback, but stay within acceptable limits.
Industry Context and Competitor Comparison

At launch, the A5i series competes directly with:

Redmi 13C (₹9,999)

Samsung Galaxy M14 (₹13,999)

Lava Blaze 5G (₹11,999)

Among these, only the A5i Pro offers both 5G and a 120Hz display under ₹14,000 - an edge that could appeal to budget gamers and students.

Availability and Launch Offers

Both models are now available on Oppo’s official website, Flipkart, Amazon India, and offline retailers. Launch offers include:

₹1,000 cashback on select bank cards

No-cost EMI options for up to 6 months

Free screen replacement for first 6 months (Pro model only)

Final Word: Who Should Buy Which?

Buy the Oppo A5i if you want a basic, dependable phone for calling, texting, YouTube, and light social media use.

Opt for the A5i Pro if you care about display quality, future-proofing with 5G, and moderately better performance and camera results.
