Apple Foldable iPhone Could Arrive in Late 2026
Apple’s long-rumored foldable iPhone is taking clearer shape this week, thanks to new supply chain reports shared by well-known analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.
In a post published online this week, Kuo claims that Apple aims to begin production of its first foldable model by late Q3 or early Q4 of 2025.
The device would likely ship sometime in fall 2026, potentially alongside the iPhone 18 lineup — though timelines could shift depending on development progress.
What’s new: Kuo now reports that the display design has been finalized, with Samsung Display confirmed as the panel supplier.
Production capacity for foldable screens is reportedly being scaled to 7–8 million units per year.
However, initial shipment volumes will be smaller.
Kuo estimates that Apple will deliver around 3–5 million units in 2026, with the rest of its multi-year order (reportedly 15–20 million devices) spread across 2027 and 2028.
What to expect: Based on Kuo’s earlier notes, Apple is said to be working on a book-style foldable phone with a 7.8-inch internal screen and a 5.5-inch cover display.
The device will reportedly feature a titanium frame, ultra-thin design (under 5mm when unfolded), and a side-mounted Touch ID sensor.
