Realme 15 Pro Plus India Launch: Snapdragon 7 Gen 4, 7,000 mAh Battery, ₹28,999 Starting Price I still remember standing in a small mobile shop in Connaught Place five years ago, holding my first Realme phone. The device was surprisingly snappy, yet affordable - an unusual combination at the time. It felt like Realme had cracked the code for Indian buyers seeking high performance without spending a fortune. Today, the launch of the Realme 15 Pro Plus promises to revisit that philosophy, but with a far more ambitious approach. This article evaluates whether Realme’s latest midrange flagship lives up to the hype, combining real-world hands-on impressions, local insights, and verified specifications. Power Under the Hood: Midrange Performance Redefined The Realme 15 Pro Plus is powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset, while the standard Realme 15 comes with the MediaTek Dimensity 7300+ SoC. Lava launches Storm Play and Storm Lite 5G smartphones with 120Hz displays under Rs 10,000

Lava launches Storm Play and Storm Lite 5G smartphones with 120Hz displays under Rs 10,000

Key Takeaways:

Lava Storm Play priced at Rs 9,999, Storm Lite at Rs 7,999 — both launching with Amazon offers

120Hz refresh rate displays and Android 15 out of the box

MediaTek Dimensity chipsets bring 5G connectivity to budget phones

In a fresh move to capture India’s budget 5G market, Lava has launched two new smartphones in its Storm series - the Storm Play and the Storm Lite.

Both devices pack modern features like 120Hz displays, 50MP cameras, and MediaTek Dimensity processors, all for under Rs 10,000.

The Lava Storm Play is priced at Rs 9,999, while the Storm Lite comes in slightly lower at Rs 7,999.

Both phones will go on sale via Amazon - the Storm Play from June 19 and the Storm Lite from June 24 - at these special introductory prices.

At first glance, these specs seem unusually generous for the sub-Rs 10,000 segment - particularly the 120Hz display and 5G support, which are still rare in this price range.

Solid displays and smooth performance

Both phones feature large 6.75-inch HD+ displays with a 120Hz refresh rate.

It’s somewhat surprising that Lava has extended this feature even to the Storm Lite, given its starting price.

Powering the phones are MediaTek Dimensity chipsets - the Storm Play gets the Dimensity 7060, while the Storm Lite is equipped with the Dimensity 6400.

Both offer 5G connectivity, smooth day-to-day performance, and should comfortably handle tasks like browsing, streaming, and light gaming.

Interestingly, both models ship with Android 15 out of the box - and Lava promises a clean, stock-like software experience without the usual bloatware or ads that can often frustrate budget phone users.

Cameras and battery life

Photography is handled by a dual rear-camera setup on both phones.

There’s a 50MP Sony IMX752 primary sensor, backed by a 2MP secondary sensor.

The front cameras differ slightly - an 8MP unit on the Storm Play, and a 5MP selfie shooter on the Storm Lite.

Both models come equipped with 5000mAh batteries.

The Storm Play supports 18W fast charging, while the Storm Lite offers 15W - adequate figures for this segment.

Most users likely won’t notice much difference between the two in day-to-day battery life.

Other features worth noting

Both phones include a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, IP64 dust and water resistance, USB Type-C ports, and expandable storage.

RAM and storage configurations include 6GB + 128GB for the Storm Play, and 4GB + 64GB or 128GB for the Storm Lite. Virtual RAM support is also included.

Oddly, Lava has not yet revealed variant-wise pricing beyond the launch offer.

Nor is there any official mention yet of longer-term software update policies - an area that budget-conscious buyers are increasingly considering.

What this means for users

At this price point, the new Lava Storm Play and Storm Lite offer a rare combination of 120Hz displays, 5G support, and clean Android 15 software - features that aren’t easy to find for under Rs 10,000.

For users upgrading from older 4G phones, or first-time smartphone buyers, these models could offer a compelling mix of performance and value.

Anyone who streams video or games on the go might especially appreciate the higher refresh rate screens.

Industry context

India’s budget 5G smartphone market remains highly competitive, with brands like Xiaomi, Realme, and Samsung already offering sub-Rs 15,000 5G devices.

However, Lava’s aggressive pricing could help the brand stand out - especially with its focus on a stock Android experience and lower-cost options.

“It’s encouraging to see Indian brands like Lava pushing innovation in this segment,” said technology analyst Rishi Mehta. “The clean Android 15 software could really appeal to budget-conscious users tired of heavy UI skins.”

Realme GT 7 and OnePlus 13R Launch in India: Mid-Range Flagships with Flagship Features

Realme GT 7 vs OnePlus 13R in India: Which Mid-Range Phone is Best for Gamers or Power Users I remember standing outside Connaught Place under the harsh Delhi sun, juggling two phones in my hands - Realme GT 7 in my left, OnePlus 13R in my right. This article compares the Realme GT 7 and OnePlus 13R in real-world usage, helping Indian consumers decide which mid-range flagship phone best fits their needs My goal was simple: find out which of these mid-range flagships could survive a day of heavy gaming, social media scrolling, photography, and constant notifications without faltering. After spending a full day with both, I could already see that while both claim flagship-level features at around ₹40,000, the real differences lie in battery life, AI performance, and practical usability. OnePlus Pad 3 Launch Confirmed: Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, 3K Display, Big Battery Revealed

OnePlus Pad 3 Launch Confirmed: Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, 3K Display, Big Battery Revealed It was during a chaotic airport layover in early July when I first noticed how unwieldy most tablets still feel. A fellow traveler beside me was juggling video calls, PDFs, and spreadsheets on a device that looked cutting-edge but felt clunky. That’s when I remembered OnePlus was preparing to release its newest tablet - the OnePlus Pad 3. I made a mental note: if there was ever a moment a thinner, smarter, AI-enhanced tablet could matter, it was in that busy terminal. Fast forward a few weeks, and OnePlus has confirmed that the Pad 3 will officially go on sale in India this September.  While the announcement might sound like just another product launch in an already crowded market, the Pad 3 stands out - and not just for its specs.  With a blend of power, slim design, and meaningful software improvements, it signals how Android tablets are beginning to seriously challenge the iPad’s long-held...
