Nothing Phone 3 set for July 1 launch - will offer 7 years of updates, Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 inside
You might expect a phone to stay updated for 3–4 years - but Nothing is promising a full 7 years.
Nothing Phone 3 is just weeks away from its official debut on July 1, and the company is steadily building excitement.
That’s an unusually long commitment - especially in the Android world.
In short:
Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 processor
7 years of updates (5 OS + 2 security)
India launch on July 1
What’s new under the hood?
You might assume Nothing Phone 3 would pack Qualcomm’s most powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 or the upcoming Elite chip - after all, the brand is calling this its first “true flagship.”
Now here’s where it gets interesting: while this chip isn’t at the very top of Qualcomm’s chart in raw power, it’s newer and offers a fresh “all–big core” setup - which should bring real-world efficiency and speed.
In Akis’s own words on X (formerly Twitter):
“Paired with all the optimisations we’ve made in Nothing OS, the result is next level. Super fast and smooooth.”What stood out most? Not the headline-grabbing benchmarks - but the balance of performance and efficiency.
Performance: More than numbers
For those who care about the numbers, Akis also shared some internal test results comparing the upcoming Phone 3 with the Phone 2:
GPU: +88%
CPU: +33%
NPU: +125%
Clearly, a significant upgrade - but Akis also took a playful jab at the “benchmark warriors,” hinting that user experience matters more than raw scores.
7 years of updates: Why it matters
Perhaps the biggest surprise was the software support promise: 7 full years of updates.
In an Android market where even premium phones typically top out at 3–4 years of support, this is a welcome move - and one that could appeal to users wanting longer-lasting devices.
Pricing: Will it match the flagship promise?
Nothing CEO Carl Pei recently hinted that Phone 3 could be priced at around EUR 800 - which roughly translates to ₹90,000.
But here’s the twist: since Phone 3 will be manufactured in India this time, local pricing could be more competitive.
In my opinion
The indian pricing is bit costly compared to existing large brands like iphone, oneplus and samsung with fan base of this brand phone. I spoke to local smartphone retailer in my country and said the price of phone could be around 50,000 to 60, 000 INR. This phone is direct challenge to Iphone 16e and Galaxy S25 and oneplus 13. I have facebook group for smartphone users, i have noticed one thing Nothing gets buyer due its give clear value with his offers to its user. Finally i think With price range over 65,000 INR seems bit value.
