WWDC 2025: Apple to Announce iOS 26, AI Upgrades on June 9

Summary Box:

Apple WWDC 2025 begins June 9 with keynote at 10:30 PM IST.

Expected announcements: iOS 26, Apple Intelligence upgrades, and VisionOS redesign.

Possible glimpse of iPhone 17 Air and new Mac Pro for developers.

Apple is set to kick off its Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2025 on June 9, and excitement is building around what the company may reveal.

The event will run until June 13 and begin with a major keynote at 1 PM ET (10:30 PM IST), streamed live on YouTube and Apple’s official site.

Though Apple has remained silent on the specifics, credible reports and analyst leaks have given us a fair idea of what’s coming.

Let’s take a closer look at what Apple is likely to announce during WWDC 2025.

iOS 26: A New Name and Design Overhaul

According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple is preparing a major visual update across all its operating systems. The redesign—reportedly codenamed Solarium—draws inspiration from visionOS. Users can expect softer design elements, rounded app icons, and transparent interface layers for a cleaner look.

In a notable shift, Apple may also abandon version numbers. That means instead of “iOS 19,” the next mobile software update could be called iOS 2026, aligning the naming system with calendar years.

This would simplify public understanding of software versions across platforms like macOS and watchOS.

Software Features Aimed at Convenience and Power

The expected iOS 26 update will likely bring features that improve both performance and usability. Some of these include:

Simplified Wi-Fi sharing across Apple devices.

An AI-powered battery management system for better energy efficiency.

A desktop mode for iPhones with USB-C ports, enabling external display support.

Meanwhile, iPadOS 26 is tipped to introduce a top menu bar, similar to macOS, and enhancements to Stage Manager, Apple’s multitasking system.

These features are designed to give iPads a more desktop-like experience.

macOS and tvOS are also expected to benefit from the visual redesign, although no groundbreaking new features are rumored for these platforms.

Apple Intelligence: Enhancing Siri and Health Coaching

AI remains a major area of focus for Apple this year. The company’s own artificial intelligence platform, Apple Intelligence, may get improved context-aware Siri responses.

There are also expectations for a health coaching feature powered by machine learning, aimed at helping users manage fitness and wellness routines.

Developers might get new APIs to integrate Apple Intelligence into third-party apps more deeply, bringing smarter interactions to a wide range of applications.

Gaming: A New Cross-Platform App

According to insider reports, Apple may also unveil a dedicated gaming application that expands on Game Centre. This app could feature:

Leaderboards

Friend lists

Seamless Apple Arcade integration

It will reportedly work across iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple TV, giving gamers a consistent experience no matter the device.

Hardware: Mac Pro Refresh, iPhone 17 Air Tease Possible

While WWDC is primarily about software, Apple occasionally showcases hardware. Past WWDCs have introduced Macs and even the Vision Pro headset in 2023.

In 2025, with the MacBook Air M4, iPhone 16e, and iPad Air M3 already released, major hardware surprises are unlikely. However, a refreshed Mac Pro with an M4 chip could appear, aimed at developers and professionals.

Additionally, some rumors suggest Apple might tease the iPhone 17 Air, expected to be the slimmest iPhone ever built. A full reveal is improbable, but a brief preview might surface during the keynote.

WWDC 2025 Schedule and How to Watch

Dates: June 9–13, 2025

Keynote Time: 1 PM ET / 10:30 PM IST, June 9

Where to Watch: Apple’s official website and YouTube stream

Apple has yet to release the full session schedule, but additional developer briefings will follow the keynote across the event’s five days.

Apple’s decision to possibly rename its software updates to match the calendar year is both practical and overdue.

Users often find the version numbers confusing, and aligning them with years will bring clarity.

The focus on design refinement also reflects a matured product lineup, shifting from revolutionary changes to polished evolution.

The rumored glimpse at the iPhone 17 Air, even without a launch, would strategically maintain hype through the rest of the year.

The most critical factor, however, will be how developers engage with Apple Intelligence and the redesigned platforms in the months to come.

Realme GT 7 and OnePlus 13R Launch in India: Mid-Range Flagships with Flagship Features

Realme GT 7 vs OnePlus 13R in India: Which Mid-Range Phone is Best for Gamers or Power Users I remember standing outside Connaught Place under the harsh Delhi sun, juggling two phones in my hands - Realme GT 7 in my left, OnePlus 13R in my right. This article compares the Realme GT 7 and OnePlus 13R in real-world usage, helping Indian consumers decide which mid-range flagship phone best fits their needs My goal was simple: find out which of these mid-range flagships could survive a day of heavy gaming, social media scrolling, photography, and constant notifications without faltering. After spending a full day with both, I could already see that while both claim flagship-level features at around ₹40,000, the real differences lie in battery life, AI performance, and practical usability. OnePlus Pad 3 Launch Confirmed: Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, 3K Display, Big Battery Revealed

OnePlus Pad 3 Launch Confirmed: Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, 3K Display, Big Battery Revealed It was during a chaotic airport layover in early July when I first noticed how unwieldy most tablets still feel. A fellow traveler beside me was juggling video calls, PDFs, and spreadsheets on a device that looked cutting-edge but felt clunky. That’s when I remembered OnePlus was preparing to release its newest tablet - the OnePlus Pad 3. I made a mental note: if there was ever a moment a thinner, smarter, AI-enhanced tablet could matter, it was in that busy terminal. Fast forward a few weeks, and OnePlus has confirmed that the Pad 3 will officially go on sale in India this September.  While the announcement might sound like just another product launch in an already crowded market, the Pad 3 stands out - and not just for its specs.  With a blend of power, slim design, and meaningful software improvements, it signals how Android tablets are beginning to seriously challenge the iPad’s long-held...
