Xiaomi has officially confirmed that it will launch the Redmi Pad 2 in India on June 5, 2025, following a teaser shared on its official X (formerly Twitter) handle

The new tablet is a successor to the original Redmi Pad, which was launched in 2022.

The upcoming model brings a larger display, improved specifications, and enhanced connectivity options.

According to Xiaomi’s teaser and global social media updates, the Redmi Pad 2 aims to offer a more powerful and user-friendly tablet experience while keeping it affordable for Indian consumers.

Redmi Pad 2: Availability and Colour Options

According to Hindustan Times The Redmi Pad 2 is expected to be available later in June via multiple online platforms such as Amazon, Flipkart, and Xiaomi’s official website.

The company has confirmed that the tablet will come in Wi-Fi-only and cellular versions, including 4G LTE and possibly 5G options, depending on the model.

Leaked promotional images and Xiaomi’s posts suggest that the tablet will feature slim black bezels around a large display.

The Pad 2 is expected to launch in at least three colour variants: Violet, Mint Green, and Grey.

Redmi Pad 2 Features: What to Expect

According to European retail listings and Xiaomi’s early product reveals, the Redmi Pad 2 will come with an 11-inch 2.5K LCD display.

It is expected to support a 90Hz refresh rate and offer peak brightness of up to 600 nits, making it suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.

The tablet is likely to be powered by the MediaTek Helio G100 Ultra chipset.

This chipset is designed for mid-range performance with a focus on multitasking and battery efficiency.

The device will come with a 5MP front camera, suitable for video calls and online classes. On the back, it may feature a single 8MP camera.

In terms of audio, Xiaomi is equipping the Pad 2 with a quad-speaker setup for stereo sound.

This could enhance the multimedia experience for streaming, gaming, or online learning.

Powering the tablet is a 9,000 mAh battery that supports 18W fast charging.

This is a step up from many budget tablets and is expected to offer extended usage time.

Expected Price of Redmi Pad 2 in India

While Xiaomi India has not yet disclosed official pricing, European market listings provide a good indication of expected prices in India.

The base variant with 4GB RAM and 128GB storage is priced at €229, which converts to approximately ₹22,000.

Two other variants are also expected:

8GB RAM + 256GB storage (Wi-Fi only) – ~€279 (₹26,000)

8GB RAM + 256GB storage (4G LTE model) – ~€299 (₹29,000)

These prices position the Redmi Pad 2 competitively within the mid-range Android tablet segment.

Why the Redmi Pad 2 Launch Matters

Tablets have regained popularity due to remote work, hybrid education, and content consumption.

With affordable pricing and strong specifications, the Redmi Pad 2 could fill a growing demand among Indian consumers looking for budget-friendly yet capable devices.

According to IDC and Counterpoint Research, India is one of the fastest-growing tablet markets globally.

Xiaomi’s move to upgrade its tablet lineup aligns with this trend.

The inclusion of a large display, strong battery, multiple connectivity options, and decent performance could make the Redmi Pad 2 an appealing option for students, professionals, and entertainment enthusiasts alike.

“Xiaomi’s move to upgrade and relaunch its tablet segment in India shows a deep understanding of the market’s growing needs.

The Redmi Pad 2 might not rival high-end models like the iPad Air, but it fills a critical gap between budget devices and premium tablets.

The inclusion of both Wi-Fi and LTE variants also increases its versatility in an increasingly mobile-first environment.

However, Xiaomi’s success will depend on aggressive pricing and after-sales support, especially in a value-driven market like India.”

OnePlus Pad 3 Launch Confirmed: Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, 3K Display, Big Battery Revealed

OnePlus Pad 3 Launch Confirmed: Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, 3K Display, Big Battery Revealed It was during a chaotic airport layover in early July when I first noticed how unwieldy most tablets still feel. A fellow traveler beside me was juggling video calls, PDFs, and spreadsheets on a device that looked cutting-edge but felt clunky. That’s when I remembered OnePlus was preparing to release its newest tablet - the OnePlus Pad 3. I made a mental note: if there was ever a moment a thinner, smarter, AI-enhanced tablet could matter, it was in that busy terminal. Fast forward a few weeks, and OnePlus has confirmed that the Pad 3 will officially go on sale in India this September.  While the announcement might sound like just another product launch in an already crowded market, the Pad 3 stands out - and not just for its specs.  With a blend of power, slim design, and meaningful software improvements, it signals how Android tablets are beginning to seriously challenge the iPad’s long-held...
